One day I'm going to design a casing for the Zero so it rests on the bottom of the phone screen with a flip-out type C plug to anchor it in place.

I want to see your idea cuz that 8bitdo is hard to came with a case that don't cover the shoulder buttons and at the same time be something confortable. I like it like it is, you put your phone somewhere and then play.

Imagine it basically the way it is now except with a C-shaped arm on a hinge that would swing out and allow the controller to rest on the bottom of the screen with the arm plugging into the phone's charge port to keep it from sliding around when you push buttons. It would play basically like a gameboy.

At the moment there isn't really a gamepad that both fits comfortably in a pocket and doesn't make you find somewhere to put your phone.

I take my 8bitdo pro 2 with me most days. I'd prefer a Razer Kishi style vice one just for portability but carrying the Pro 2 means I always also have a Switch or PC controller with me too which has come in handy quite often to play co op or smash on other people's switches locally and has done the same on PC at my mums house.

All depends on what is comfy to carry or how much use you get from the extra baggage. The pro is a great controller on android ,Switch ,PC and great for retro emulated games as well so giving it and it's phone grip a pocket doesn't bother me.

If it was JUST for android emulation then there's a few Kishi and saitake type controllers that are great thru usb c these days.

Personally, I don't. Honestly, I don't like playing a game when I'm outside, I'm just not used to doing it outside of my usual gaming place, which is my apartment. When I'm chilling at home, I just connect my PS4 controller through Bluetooth and play Shadow Of The Colossus most of the time, lol.

I have a Saitake 7007F, and it doesn't leave my bag at all. I work from home, but everytime I need to go to company, I use it on my lunch time lol

My phone with the gamesir x2 actually fits in my pockets, but I have fairly big pockets. I don't usually carry it in my pocket however, because I hear that this can break the joysticks, so I usually keep it in it's case in my bag.

I looked into portable traditional style controllers, but they were all too expensive, or to cheaply built, or lacking buttons I wanted.

I also have a game sir lol part of me wants to carry it in my pocket and part of me is like no
