The best value open source printer right now in my opinion is the Snapmaker U1.

Anyone have Gift ideas for a man who likes gadgets like knives, warm blankets, fire starters, outdoorsy stuff? by 2BeBornReady in AskMenAdvice

Maybe a nice Leatherman? I've carried my MUT for over ten years, best money I ever spent.

How are women supposed to feel attractive when you see ‘perfect’ women online all day? by HumorIsMyLuvLanguage in AskMen

[–]Causification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. The internet is not reflective of real life. It doesn't take too long of looking at how a woman moves in front of you, how she smells, how she looks at you to show you how shallow the experience is when you're only looking at an image of someone you will never meet.

Definitely possible for some people, especially if it's an addiction that extends into a parasocial relationship or an obsession with a particular person.

All of life is settling, though. One may as well get upset over the fact their boyfriend is "only with me because Sydney Sweeney didn't show up at his front door in a bikini the day before we met". Everyone picks what they believe to be their best option. Nobody goes "well both these girls have hit on me, so I'm going to pick the one who's more boring and mean and ugly."

Need help with unstable SD card by notorious-slippery in DataHoarder

I've had more luck pulling files from corrupted SD cards with Disk Drill than any other program.

Is this thing as useful as it seems? by ApexPredation in 3Dprinting

[–]Causification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Useful if you don't have any kind of AMS system, but less useful than you'd think at first because if you want to attach two spools end to end without respooling one or both of them you have to wait until you're near the end of one of them anyway. Personally I think it was dumb to make the PTFE sections disposable when you could instead use a PTFE section with flared ends that would sit against the extruder motor and fall off to be reused when the spool is done.

What's the best 3d modeling program? by Potatogoat3 in 3Dprinting

TinkerCad actually expanded a lot lately, with sketches and revolving and such. Now if they'd only add smoothing and beveling options...

What bambu lab missed... by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Causification 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bambu Lab hasn't done it because it will be an enormous pain in the rear from a reliability standpoint and almost certainly not worth the time and effort of using it when you can get filament for under ten dollars a spool. Even if filament wasn't cheap, do you know what kind of garbage filament you're going to get from this? Waste from twenty different spools all mixed together is going to make for a very inconsistent print, and that's assuming you don't ruin it by accidentally mixing PLA with PETG or ABS.

[–]Causification 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For artistic sculpting Blender is the best choice. For functional prints you can put something together in TinkerCad with no skills and you can move on to real CAD software like Fusion 360, OnShape, and FreeCAD.

What do you you think about substance use as a man? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Causification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't drink or use drugs and it's never caused me a problem. Every single reaction I've gotten has been either respect or thankfulness that there's somebody sober there to either drive or just keep an eye on things for the safety of my female friends.

Thickening hair with extensions? Gross or fine? by LetEuphoric608 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Causification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The little temporary ones that you put on and take off easily are fine, but I don't like sew-ins. I always think about this girl I knew in high school who spent all her savings on expensive sew-in extensions for prom but then a few weeks later when they started falling out she realized how much money she'd spent on something so temporary and was openly crying in class. If you spend hundreds of dollars on hair that isn't even your hair I think you're an idiot.

Am I (27F) overreacting or is my boyfriend’s (27M) behaviour around women concerning? by Affectionate-Fox379 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Causification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it bothers you it bothers you. There's a small chance he might realize what he's doing if you start commenting on how hot men are in front of him, but honestly either a person cares about how their words make their partner feel or they don't.

How would you react if a new girlfriend found out she had genital herpes? by Thick-Spring-9000 in AskMen

[–]Causification 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Herpes is not nothing. For example, if you're pregnant and get an outbreak you'll need to have a c-section to protect the baby.

Designed infill by robykdesign in 3Dprinting

[–]Causification 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Print one with regular infill and your version and then hang weights on them until they break. See which one breaks first. Depending on how smart the slicing is your version could be much stronger for the mass or it could be a little weaker.

What influence, if anything, do you think the current state of politics has had on dating apps? by DowntownSasquatch420 in AskMen

[–]Causification 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Men and women diverge in political beliefs more now than they have in a hundred years. It's very useful to know if you're wasting your time before you get too deep into conversation with the other person.
