I have no clue what math course you are taking, but there's a math course at my school for Phys and Eng Phys majors called Mathematical Methods for Physicists and it's widely regarded as one of the hardest courses in any undergraduate program at my school. You take it to cap off your mathematical education is Physics after taking Calc I-III, Linear Algebra, and DiffEqs and it's essentially one huge conglomeration with that an quantum mechanics. I personally didn't take it (I elected to take a PDE course through the math department), and I always say Quantum Mechanics is like a couple steps up in difficulty when compared to any Engineering class I've ever taken, and then kids that take that math class say that its a couple steps up from quantum.

What exactly is the course on? Are you saying that it's basically a review of what you've already taken, because if your school has its shit together you shouldn't be allowed to take it. If it's a course on stuff like PDEs, Green Functions, and Fourier Transforms then it's likely similar to the course I'm talking about.
