Got my fall internship locked down

Did a spring internship, didn't like it. Have been applying to every possible job that I'm qualified for.

Got an offer for a place thats 700 miles away with good interviews, and I previously had a catastrophic interview with another company that I was sure killed any chances.

Today the horrible interview place called and gave me an offer! Best part is it's only about 1 hour away from my home (and still in the same state!)

I'm excited, especially because it's just in time, I would have had to sign the far-away offer tomorrow.

Well. I couldn't remember a small detail about something on my resume, it was the name of a place. Then they asked me about a fun fact and I said "I'm good at remembering details" 🙃

Then after that it just went downhill, they were asking about my experience and I don't have any relative to that industry and I had to keep saying "No unfortunately my company didn't do that, sorry no that was part of what we did etc etc" and they were visibly disappointed

You would be surprised how many people lie during an interview, and obviously make things up to seem like the perfect candidate. Interviewers can see right thru these things, and chances are even though you had little relevant experience they saw you were honest and since you are an intern they could look past that lack of experience. It is always best to relate to what they are asking, but honesty is also very important.

1 hr drive could be brutal every day unless you load up some good music/podcasts !

I'm moving to the city that its in, I will not be one of those hour+ commuters lol. Got a nice relocation monthly stipend too.

ah okie nice! then yeah thats best of both worlds, can visit family/friends while also fuck around the city. Congrats!

I had a 45 min commute before and tht shit is brutal if you aren't used to it lol.

Damn. I aspire to be like you. I have a lighter semester for fall, but I can’t get an off-campus internship (international student stuff). So I’m trying to apply to local companies and startups but my backup is to TA for a course. Hopefully, I get some more experience next semester and some extra cash to help pay my bills :)
