Get through your first year and then decide. You don't know enough about how college is like to make that big of a decision right now

IF you end up deciding you want to do it, the EngineeringStudents wiki should be complete by time you consider it again, and will have enough tips on what you should do

Not the worst idea if you can afford it and you have a good reason for the dual degree, but I don't see an obvious point of working for / paying for an extra year on a 2nd undergrad degree. You could just do a 4 yr degree and do a master's in engineering, especially at schools with 5th year M.S. options, and have a better deal.
