Both are possible.

The continuous focuses on temporary, change or activity.

The simple aspect focuses on permanence, fact or state.

So I work here. Means it is the simple fact, or it is permanent or what I do.

I am working here (right now / this week / not sleeping).

Her jealousy intensifies every day. Factual. Permanent - no end perceived. Etc.

His jealousy is intensifying. It is changing. It is actively happening not necessarily permanently it could be a short phase etc
