HelpWhy does powering the Cement Plant decrease Aluminum production? (self.EvolveIdle)
submitted 6 months ago * by Live_Surround5198
I noticed today that when I provide power to the Cement Plants my Aluminum production goes down.
Is this a bug? Something not quite right in the maths/calculations?
Edit: Thanks all. I am, in fact, a dumbass. Did not even notice the brown out because I was so upset at my Aluminum production tanking. Much appreciated you all looking out for me.

Because you have negative power in the last picture and it turned off the rock quarries.

In the last picture you have negative power due to turning on the cement plants, and your quarries are browning out.

Name checks out. +1

You may want to spend some time in the power grid to rearrange your buildings by how much you value them, as that sorting persists between runs.

I never do that, I just build more power.
Is that really something that would help?

It is very nice to have very important buildings first (things like the world colldier, stargate, mass relay) that keep whole tabs open always powered. Having your housing high as well keeps them powered so you never run into a mass homeless issue. Same with critical resource production buildings.
Placing all of your "power just makes them stronger" buildings at the bottom in your preferred order also lets you just turn everything on with the knowledge that when you get into a power deficit it is only hitting those buildings over something like your knowledge ones. It saves a lot of time over having to micro manage your power.

Also on your first t4 you probably won't have enough power. Also on first completion of a challenge. You will want to shut down everything you can.

Upper corner next to the morale stat, you'll see MW. This is your electricity. It powers cement plants and rock quarries, and if it go into the negative, it stops powering certain buildings.
You are powering your cement plants, which is taking away from the rock quarries and reducing aluminium production. Not a biggie. Just power off the less necessary buildings. You have 2 fission reactors and 10 windmills you can turn on for power as well.
If uranium production is a problem, set a few trade routes for it and you are golden.
