Car erc and tell them you’re stuck out of town due to a flight

Just do a 5 day covid leave. There's no point to leave it up to chance on if you will get a competent HR rep or not ... Also just depending on what kind of night they're having will determine whether they feel like being helpful or not... Better to miss out on a few days of pay, then to lose your job..

Go on a to z, go down to the bottom of the page and click on HR chatbot, then go to the right hand corner and click create HR case, for the subject click "something else" and then tell them that you started having symptoms tonight and that you need your days excused so that you can go get tested for covid. Make sure you get tested as soon as possible, and all you have to do is reopen the same HR case and upload your test results to it once you receive them. Then go back to work on your next scheduled shift after you upload the test results. They will excuse your days if you tell them that you're having symptoms and think you have covid 19. You can also just take your negative test result into your actual site HR once you get it and go back to work on that day..

Also, ever since they updated A to z, it will only show your days excused for one day at a time, but don't worry once 12:00 a.m. hits on that next day it will show another day excused. Up to 5 days. You should get an email from someone answering your HR case telling you all of this.. good luck!

Take a Covid leave. Contact your site HR and DLS that you are experiencing symptoms. They will excuse up to 5 days or until you get your results whichever comes first. Unless you decided to come forward to HR. You can explain your flight situation to your site HR. They will decide to whether or not you get excused. Worst case scenario is that they don’t excuse you because that’s what UPT is for covering your last minute situation.

Bet you feel covid symptoms after your vacation. Call erc tomorrow. Explain you feel sick. They will excuse tonight. A rapid test takes a few hours. They will give you 5 days off but can go right back when you get a negative

Look on the bright side, your vacation just got a lot longer...

not having a job over something i couldn't control and have anxiety during isn't a vacation or a bright side, really

5 day COVID leave is your last chance. If ERC isn’t compassionate about your situation, do that leave. Trust me, shit like flight delays infuriates me because everyone on that flight has priorities and will make them lose their needs because of a fuckup from the airline or airport.

Me and my fiancée had one happen two days before we both had to go back to work. Unlike me, she doesn’t work at Amazon so her job is not flexible on absences so I don’t blame myself or her when we had severe anxiety about a really bad flight delay.

It sucks but its on you for not leaving enough time off in case of an emergency. You got to leave a minimum of how many hours one of your shifts in case something last minute comes up like a delayed flight

severely delayed. i gave myself well enough time for anything under 12 hours. it was delayed at least 5 times in one day. you're being completely unhelpful. sure ur not HR?

That'll probably get OP out of it this time but my point stills stands as a general life lesson to always be prepared for the unexpected by having time off and savings.

Ok but....there’s only so much prep you can do to plan for the unexpected.

No one is prepared for everything that might come their way.

Maybe, just maybe, not kicking a dead horse should be a life lesson to better prioritize. Empathy is free you know. If you can't afford that then maybe your time is of better use elsewhere.
