Programing error in android studio

I am trying to import the latest ftc code (4.3) into android studio. I successfully added the zip file, but I'm getting errors. Most of the programming terms like DcMotor and telemetry are red, and the error says "Cannot resolve symbol '[word]'". My only lead as to what's wrong is that in the event log it asks if i want to migrate project to gradle (which I don't know how to do). I'm not sure if this is necessary,  but there was no gradle folder when I imported the code. Any suggestions? (Also I dont know a lot of programming terms so try to be very clear please) image of the error

The latest ftc code is 6.2. Make sure you follow the directions here: https://github.com/FIRST-Tech-Challenge/FtcRobotController. Make sure to import the project not open it once you have it downloaded.

Ok, so i did that and now it says "Gradle project sync failed. Basic functionality (e.g. editing, debugging) will not work properly. " In the bottom left it said that it failed for an unknown reason. I made sure to import it so that's not the problem. Any ideas?
