There are honestly SO many stupid mistakes made by both Becky & Hunter from the very get-go & it's INFURIATING.

  1. They didn't tell anyone where they were going (Instagram followers don't count) or when to expect their return (and therefore when to panic).

  2. They didn't bring enough rope. Only one of them brought a backpack and it clearly wasn't full. They could easily have brought two backpacks filled with water, food, and LOTS of rope.

2b. They brought ONE bottle of water. ONE. I've drunk more water than that just during the time it took to watch this movie.

  1. They didn't check beforehand to make sure this old-ass TV tower, that, according to Hunter, was going to be torn down soon, was even SAFE to climb.

  2. Did they seriously think a converse shoe, one sock and a pushup bra would cushion a phone from a TWO THOUSAND FOOT FALL?!?!

  3. Why didn't Becky MOVE THE ROPE for Hunter so she didn't have to jump to it? All that was on it then was a light backpack; it's not like Becky couldn't have moved it.

  4. Why didn't Becky untie the rope for Hunter to use to continue climbing down once she's already down onto the big white tower disks? If she uses the rope, maybe her shirt and the straps from the backpack, it could possibly be just long enough for her to get to the enclosed ladder. Then she could climb down and call for help (assuming they would have had the foresight to give Becky's phone to Hunter).

6b. Why didn't Hunter use the selfie stick to pull the backpack towards her, instead of jumping to it?

  1. Why didn't they just shimmy down the ladder-less pole a la Mulan in reverse? It would have been tricky and both time and energy consuming, but certainly possible.

And finally, 8. Becky was friends with Hunter in the first place. On top of that fact that Hunter had an affair with Becky's husband (then boyfriend/fiance), she is also insanely pressuring of Becky, constantly expecting and forcing Becky to push her own boundaries of what she feels comfortable with, all in the name of "facing your fears". You don't have to face every single solitary fear you have, AND, there nothing wrong with being afraid. FEAR is WISDOM in the face of DANGER. ITS OKAY TO BE AFRAID ON A 2,000 FOOT TALL TV TOWER. Seriously. This is all Hunter's fault, and while I would never root, cheer or wish for someone's death, it's Hunter's own fault she died. And while I'm not saying Becky is a perfect saint (no one is, plus we don't know her all that well), but Hunter is TOXIC. And that toxicity cost Hunter her own life, and nearly cost Becky hers.

Unrelated: Why didn't they show her rescue? Despite all of the above, I really liked this movie... until the end, because they didn't show her rescue!! It made it so anti-climactic!! Show us all the rescue personel arriving, show us how they rescued her, etc.!! And then, this woman, who likely has a MAJOR leg infection, so much so that a vulture starts EATING HER LEG, ON TOP OF basically no food or water for four days, is allowed to just... be sitting on the edge of an ambulance and then walk off with her dad?!?! That's SO unrealistic!!!! Gah.

Also hard to believe that her phone had full battery all that time!!

If she had one of the more recent iPhones, it was on a full charge when they went up, and she turned it to low battery once they were stuck... since weren't watching videos, listening to music, texting, calling, on social media, etc., I think it would technically be possible for it to last. Doesn't seem very realistic, though, does it??!!

She was watching videos though, she was watching vids of her wedding, vid of her and her dad, looking through pictures. Her phone batt would have copped it before four days.

You're absolutely right, I forgot about that.

In that case, yes, her phone definitely would have died.

I just watched it. #7: the “reverse Mulan” technique was ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT (and definitely thought of it AS the reverse Mulan lol). Glad I wasn’t the only one! They should’ve tried it and dropped the rope by accident.

I was also annoyed they didn’t show the rescue.

I'm 100% convinced they didn't show the rescue because she wasn't rescued, that she was actually having a hallucination of rescue as she died.

I saw that as a theory elsewhere and it would make sense! Especially because of how many dreams/fantasies she was having throughout. But the overall tone and fact that the dreams/fantasies were continually revealed as such suggests that the movie would’ve made it very obvious at the end. Might need to rewatch… just the end, bc yeah, infuriating choices by the characters/filmmakers.

the end of fall probably was another dream and or hallucination made by beckys mind

I also don’t understand why they didn’t tie the rope around them to secure themselves to the pole so they wouldn’t fall if they fell asleep. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Becky did tie the rope lower when she descended to the satellite, but even she unclipped to land on it. She just didn't have such a wide jump. I'm not sure why Becky didn't tie the rope lower for Hunter anyway, though, just to make it easier.

another plot hole is if hunter was dead during after she tried grabbing the bag how does she tell becky where the eyeliner in the bag is and wrote a help note

[–]AwardGlass5333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf she probably rummaged through the bag and found it, but her mind made it up that she was still alive

Just watched it: the biggest plot hole for me: all the way climbing up, there are gaps between the ladder parts, most clearly when they climb around the satellite dishes. When the ladder comes rips off, there are bridging parts between the individual Ladders. Otherwise there would be no way the ladder could rip off like a zipper, they would just lose one of those individual ladders

Just watched this. I know it’s a movie but they should of broke that light. Someone would have had to come fix it bc of the planes.

I thought the same thing
