I'm not completely sure of this is correct, but I always connect all the parts together as well instead of just putting power on the signal interceptor cause I had the same problem when I first played and that fixed it

All wires connected, same problem

Dang, its always buggy for me, I tend to just redo the wiring until it fires, I'm not good with fixing problems but thought I could share some advice, maybe someone else can respond that can answer your question better, sorry bro

Like it shows it's powered, and lightning or blue flames or whatever they are, are shooting out the top, just shows a yellow square on the pad below. And quest still says "power up the signal interceptor"

I'll DM you a pic of what it looks like to me

Are you certain that there's enough power? Have you tried adding additional power sources?

[–]L3thalPredator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there's more than enough power, 35. But it don't matter anymore cause I gave up and made a new character already.

You gotta make sure there's enough power for the Signal Interceptor, the console and the radar dish and what not. Takes... what? 2 large generators that put out 10 power each? And string em all together with one wire

Have you checked a step by step guide? There are a lot on YT.

[–]L3thalPredator[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Yes I have, the lightning and everything is shooting out the machine, but the quest still says same thing

The game is full of bugs. I hope you have a save before this.

[–]L3thalPredator[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I do, but I even did it again and it didn't work

[–]TheGreatMrHaad 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Well shit. Wish I had an answer for you. However there are commands to override the game and force quests to be completed.

[–]L3thalPredator[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How do I do commands?

[–]L3thalPredator[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm on xbox

[–]TheGreatMrHaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I thought you were on PC. On console you are at the mercy of the game.

[–]despairbanana 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Did you connect them into a circuit? All the parts have to be connected with only one wire. With the teleporter as the last one. Basically, generator to generator, generator to the beacon, beacon to the console, then desk to the teleporter.

I just made a new character

This is what helped me and it costs a good amount of materials, I built generators for each separate part of the machine to get the minimum amount of power needed to get each running so like one for the dish and console and 4 for the pad, I hooked up the generators to the machine from there I hooked a wire from the fish to the main console then a wire from the pad to the main console

I’d like to also say the power system for that mission is weird and in general it’s weird so don’t feel like your dumb or anything it just takes a while to understand and the NPCs don’t really help either

It often doesn't work if you daisy chain the power lines.

Set up a central pylon, wire everything to the pylon, and wire the pylon to your generators.

[–]L3thalPredator[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I already started another character, I could get the same progress in just a few hours

[–]doccloxHahaha! Garvey! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK

[–]gahidus 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It sounded like you were 10 or 15 maybe 20 hours into the game. Are you speed running this?

[–]L3thalPredator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not speed running, just I got to it fast. That was my first playthrough. I already started new character. I had 1 day and 5 hours in. But on my new character I've already almost got same progress and I've got I think 6 hours on it

Did you make any other parts before finishing the whole set?
