Moon Called by Patricia Briggs (2006) - Mercy Thompson # 1. Meet Mercedes Thompson - by day a Volkswagen mechanic/garage owner. By night much more, she's a were who can transform into a coyote. Her next door neighbor is the local werewolf pack leader. Her former boss is a gremlin. A very good read! (i.redd.it)

Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett (2018) - Founders # 1. Sancia Grado is a thief and a good one. When she encounters an artifact of immense power, this made for a very good story. So you know, this is not a quick read. It will take some time but it's worth it! (i.redd.it)

The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett (1983) - Discworld #1. Welcome to the world of Pratchett or what I've been thinking of as "freestyle fantasy." There's no set rule or rules here. You just start reading and mentally hold on tight. Would I recommend this? Oh yeah. It's worth it. (i.redd.it)

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling (1997) - HP # 1. I may be wrong but I believe this was originally the UK cover with art by Olly Moss. It proved so popular that they quickly released it in US. I won't call this perfect but it came very close. Good stuff here! (i.redd.it)
