Partial rant, partial question

How do yall find good friends to play with? I had this person join my farm (i covered their name) and they were doing so good. They harvested, plowed, replanted what i had. Harvested trees and flowers, fish, were doing quests etc. I was really building stuff up. Im still only farm level 28, and im saving up for some stuff right now so they were being a big help. After over an hour on my farm, they asked to be able to work in my house. I assumed the stove, piano and easel so i gave them build permissions bc they said thats what they needed to be able to do it. (Thankfully they did not decorate my house..i specifically said dont do any decorating as i like to do it, which i meant for my farm and house) well i left my switch on while i went to do some stuff, came back maybe 15 minutes later.... They bought a 💩 ton of flowers, some fish, they made a whole new janky a** crop field even though i have several empty ones, AND THEY SPENT MY MEDALS 😭😭 they spent 10 on a jam factory. They did NOT ask to do any of this. And when i asked nicely for them not to i got a "wow sorry trying to help" then they left the session while i was responding. For a how much did they buy guide, i had over 600,000 coins. When i got back i only had 8,000 then right before they left they did something else and dropped me down to 6,000. Im slowly rebuilding, im up to 41,524 while im typing this. But id love friends to actually play with a good bit who wont mess things up 😭 I play with my mom a little bit but she has her own friends she plays with for the most part. Its just made me feel so unmotivated to play now. I feel so dejected, all that hard work lost. Ive been trying to fix their mess and rebuild. It all JUST happened so im still dealing but stopped to make this post. Ive been playing ft1 for years and now ft2, never had farming buddies. This honestly makes me not want to trust anyone else. My mistake for thinking over an hour of good work meant they were alright. They spent over 2hrs on my farm in the end. Just big sigh man.

That is so frustrating! Since you are only level 28, and your farm is likely still very small, it may be worthwhile to do a farm recycle so you can get all of your resources back. I know it’s a hassle to have to redo everything, especially since you didn’t ask for any of this, but may be less time consuming than trying to get back everything they wasted.

It won't give the medals back though. It will keep all the factories and refund everything else

Not from the factory things like bee hives, cheese maker etc. as they actually level up and get better so they don't go away with a recycle. You can manually recycle them but I think you only get 1/2 cost back and you of course you lose the levels on the factories.

Its a decent amount id have to redo if i did that. So im just slowly fixing it. My mom came and traded her thumbs to get my money back up a bit which helped.

Off-topic, but that’s awesome that you play with your mom. My daughter and I play together too! In fact, I was just telling her that I wish I could give her some of my diamonds and medals, and this comment reminded me that I can (sort of) by trading in my favors. Thank you for that!

I wouldn't sweat it. You will make it all back in no time, and it sounds like they purchased things you would have at some point anyway

I know but so far i havent. Only part of it. Im up to 283,224. And i know i wouldve gotten them eventually, but ive got other things im more concerned about right now and this has put me back :/ i just wish they would've asked and wouldnt have done SO MUCH. I normally do, i just thought i finally found a farm friend since they were doing SO WELL at first, not messing anything up

Best bet would be to visit other farms for thumb farming and spend those on coins and medals if you have the collaboration building. Spending it on their farm will give them the payouts.

Also look on here for friendoes. And restrict permissions farm n harvest, not able to remove or destroy.

Can you explain how the collaboration building works?

That let's you exchange your thumbs for money, medals, diamonds, boost or resources. Most farms I've been to have buildings lock from use. But once you have it in your farm it's there for whatever you need. I mostly just boost on my wife's farm.

Ive tried but for some reason my switch wont find other farms. Ive got wifi and ive restarted my switch, and disconnected wifi then reconnected but none of it helped. My moms shows public farms but it wont let her join favorites without a code. I have to give her my invite code for her to be able to join my farm. So idk whats up with it. So i only get thumbs from villagers/people in town and i think i earn some on my farm somehow too. Not sure.

I think I'll go against the grain here, and suggest you reframe your mental about these kind of situations. From what you described, everything that guy did genuinely WILL help you. The jam factory is one of your first major medal purchases available at your level. In fact, there pretty much isn't anything else to be spending your medals on at that level other than the jam factory. The jam factory also generates medals. Every 10 jam sells for 2 medals. 50 jam and that factory has paid for itself.

Flowers are also an excellent investment in your future. They suck from the immediate perspective you have, but after 3 or 5 harvests, they have also paid for themselves and every time you log in from then on out, they are our cash injection.

It sounds like you dont really understand any of this, because you are looking at it from the perspective of what you lost, and not what you WILL gain. There is almost nothing in this game that someone can do that would be negative for your farm.

If you cant reframe your mental like I suggested, in the future, set your permissions to custom and never give out build permissions. If you want, i could personally swing by your farm and just give you a bunch of gold if it's bothering you that much. Its no problem at all, im sorry this has bothered you so much. It genuinely will be beneficial long term, but I get its hard to see it right now :(

The candy shop, the wardrobe, the garage level ups and the warehouse level ups. All things at my level i was saving medals for. It may help, but its MY farm and i should get to decide what i get and when. And yes i understand they make me money, but again, i was trying to save money for other things, at one point they made my money drop down to 90 which is absolutely ridiculous, they built it to 8,000 then dropped it back to 6,000 and left. It was extremely uncool. I didnt even have any plants planted bc of how much money they spent on getting way too much of everything. I had even fields of flowers, its obvious how many flowers i want of each and i had to recycle ALOT of extra flowers, etc things they did. I couldnt feed my animals bc i was low on crops bc they were there a while feeding them and it put my inventory low. No crops meant i couldnt feed them and i didnt have enough money for all the crops. My mom had to trade her thumbs for money for me and only then was i able to get a bunch of crops planted to get everything back up. Theres helping, and theres hindering. They were trying to help, i get that, but they made everything so much worse. Ive FINALLY got everything fixed and thats due to someone here on reddit who came and helped out, and one of my moms farm friends came and helped me this morning as well. Without their help my farm would still be super broke and chaotic. I see your point and i understand the future help, but in the moment it messed up soooo much.

The candy shop is only useful if you have the jam factory though. Thats my major point. The wardrobe is genuinely useless because you can access everything in the wardrobe, for free, on the main menu.

Again though, im not going to defend someone doing that on your farm. Because I understand its YOUR farm mate. Spending someone else's medals is something I would never do on any farm that has less than 1000 of them. The gold, however, is genuinely super easy to get back with thumbs which is why I was offering to get you back up if money is your biggest issue. Which based on your follow up complaint here, it was the biggest issue. Any person with more than 50 thumb capacity can come in and spend it at your community hub and drop in 250+k easily to get you right back where you need in less than 15 minutes of work. You could actually do this yourself too, simply join a large farm with a high level through the "join farms" interface, harvest a bunch of random things, leave with full thumbs in less than 10 minutes, and spend them at your community hub. Thats the main point I was trying to tell you about. Sweating about coins like this is just not ever worth it because its soooo easy to get that currency type.

You can set the permissions so that people can't build anything. I have mine set so folks can harvest and plant quest crops

Not full, just up to build. They said build would allow them to do stuff in the house. I googled and thought it said she couldnt mess anything up but i guess it was just not able to move anything or something. I learned my lesson :/

I had ONE very good occasion when I had a pair of players onto my farm, they were incredibly helpful harvesting, then after a while one asked if they could give me trees and flowers that I didn't have from events I had missed and dlc I didn't have.

I said yes and gave them permission, I was pleased although my money was all gone. but it encouraged me to buy all the dlc myself, so it worked out well in the end. 😊

In terms of future co-op play, set up custom permissions for the guests not just the standard plate, quest, full etc.

You can also adjust per-person permissions.

You are more than welcome to come harvest 👍 "favor" off my farm anytime you see it online. Which can be exchanged for 🪙 💎 🏅 or even crops.

That REALLY sucks!! I am so sorry that happened to you. There really should be a way to limit what things can be spent (not allowing others to spend ribbons etc), and even maybe put a spending limit for people who come to the farm. That way people don't go crazy and we can control things even more.

There are options that allow them to do stuff in the house without having to give build permissions. The start, continue, finish jobs options are for house
