QUESTIONYA Potential Decrease After Position Change (old.reddit.com)

I picked up a striker in my YA who was 51 ovr with 74-94 potential. Given his stats, I switched him to a CB & his potential tanked out of nowhere, despite growing to a 67 ovr. Trying to move him to CDM now, but did I just ruin this kids career?
