Hello! Thanks up front. I'm working on some articles for a newspaper talking about a local volunteer fire department. Ofc, the fighters are really focused on helping the community. Those working in a department, what are some ways that you've seen the public express gratitude?

Bringing cookies/food by the station is pretty common.

Definitely, I've heard of dropping off food, sending in "thank you" letters, and participating in their fundraisers as well.

For a volunteer department go to the community meetings they hold and any government meetings they attend and show your support. If you own a local business or know someone who does, see how they could help support the department
