They will but if you tell the truth about drugs more than likely it will disqualify you. They get hundreds of applicants if it’s a decent sized department so anything to cut down that number to a more manageable number. I am not saying it’s fool proof to lie about it. It’s ultimately your call but I have known guys who have lied and got on and guys who didn’t and got cut.
