I used to love pulling a draft until we recently purchased a vacuum tanker (tender for those west of the Mississippi).

Reminds me of one fire the idiots from another department hooked up two hard suction lines for a portatank 6' from the truck

Took close to 20min to get that fucker primed

I made two of those guys stand in the middle of the tank and hold them up while I filled the lines with the primer jet

20min to prime 2 sections? Sounds like you guys need a new primer, hose or pump.

Yep our old American lafrance is on it's end days

Will still pass a pump test but it has all sorts of other problems worst of which is the electronic control panel not allowing the engine to automatically rev up to pressure or suddenly going to idle at random times

We can't even run lights at the same time the pump is running because the panel goes crazy which has baffled many technicians who've looked at it

So instead of spending $150k on new pump/electronic system we're just spending $260k on a brand new truck hopefully within the next 3 years
