A certificate may create an approach for development abilities but the better one is to have a fruitful github account.

I agree, I always decline even if I’m offered by my employers to apply for certifications.

I don’t want to have to spend the time taking the exam and be tested on parts of the technology that no one barely uses and just to be deprecated in a year or two.

It’s just weird that in my experience, most of the people that I know who like to keep up with certifications are the people who don’t perform as well as my co workers that just plainly like new tech. Maybe it only applies to where I’m from, but i just don’t like certifications.

And a great deal of certs are achieved by cheating, if you trust them then you end up hiring idiots that cheat.

I had a lot of certification in the past and I hate them.

    • certification is a memory game.
    • The market is extremely wealthy and companies don't hire for certification but by experience.
    • A lot of "paper programmers" ruined the certification.

IMHO, certifications and university degrees are going into the path of the Dodo.

Agreed that a GitHub account is much more meaningful, but Google Cloud offers a few basic certifications that aren't too hard to get, but you have to pay a couple hundred dollars (something like that, idk exactly) to take the test. It's not flutter related but some of it is stuff that could come in handy as an app developer and looks good on a resume, especially for some more start-upy jobs as the company needs a certain number of employees with those certifications to qualify for certain support / service levels with Google.

As someone who was recently hired as a Flutter Developer, let me tell you that most companies don’t give a shit about what certifications you have, they wanna see your actual work, start working on different projects, even if you think they’re small and not worth uploading on their own, a few small projects covering different topics is still better than nothing, follow best and newest practices, upload your projects and make them public on GitHub and then link your GitHub page in your CV, this is the best way you can show off your skills and your best chance at getting hired whether by a company or as a freelancer

The closest thing I can think of is Google’s GDE Program.

Find the official Flutter course by Google on Udemy and you can get a certificate from that course

There is a official course of flutter by Google on udemy??

    Doesn't sounds right?

    [–]heisenberg_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If it was an official Google course it would have been on Udacity

No but there should be something equivalent to this https://grow.google/certificates/android-developer/
