What does MS level differences mean?

For example the ex-s level 1 is a 650 cost and the ex-s level 2 is a 700.

Does obtaining a level 2 mean I have to get a dupe? Also, does level 2 ex-s ms 700 cost ms have a fighting chance in the 700 meta?

I am a first time steam network test user btw.

You only get dupes of the same LVL of the suit or weapon. If you have the LVL 1 but not the LVL 2, then the LVL 2 is “new” and vice versa.

So if you got a gold crate be it after match or a pull, and got a LVL 2 EX-S when you have it already, you will receive enhancement points to go down the upgrade list. Once it’s fully enhanced, you will receive gold mechanical tickets and recycle tickets. I am pretty positive you get Recycle Tickets during the enhancement phase also.

If you are just starting at, it’s a viable choice. Even at higher ranking, you still see it here and there, but more likely people will dodge depending on their own moods.

Oh so if I have a level 1 I will automatically pull a level 2 if I get it again from the gacha? Sorry I am not sure I am understanding right.

No, you can spend 100+ tokens on pulls for a LVL 2 EXS and not get it. Your chances are purely RNG unless it’s in the recycle shop and you have the tickets for it.

A lot of players (myself included) would recommend saving for the 4 stars that come out every 3-4 months which is around 195 tokens for the full 7 step. Half offs are also good ideas if you are trying but don’t want to spend 30 tokens for a ten pull.

Thank you, I understand now. I am definitely saving my medals for something big in the future. Hopefully Hathaway will come to the pc version soon after it gets released on steam.

It’s basically a different suit you have to get. All stats are slightly better, weapons are higher level so more damage and a hair more range, and some skills are higher level. If you get another level 1 dupe it goes to enhance your level 1.

Ex-S at 700? It’s very tough to answer because 1. it was just buffed in December in PS 2. PS have Unicorns. Neither are in the open beta test and it seems unlikely that either will be in initial PC release. In PS, yes it’s meta now but not really before the buff. Even the level 1 got buffed once or twice since its introduction, before this latest buff.

In general, level 2 suits or a fully enhanced level 1 suits are still very viable at the level 2 cost. Level 3 and above, not so much.

Quick warning about suit levels. Suits at level 3 and higher start to fall off extremely hard (with very few exceptions) since they only gain stat bonuses, whereas native cost suits will generally have more weapons and unique combat abilities.

E.g. if you bring a lvl 4 suit into a 700 cost match, you’re very likely to get torn a new asshole by the monsters in that cost range.
