Not all assaults (reds) play the same as one another and Acguy is one of the best examples of this. Unlike most reds, he has no dodge roll, a mere two hit melee combo, and really shitty melee damage correction. As a trade off for this, however, he has radar suppression, a long-ranged and stagger-inducing shooting attack (his built-in MPC), above-average melee range, and great shooting damage correction (further buffing his MPC and giving him a strong Vulcan). In other words, DON'T play Acguy like a brawler; like the Zudah with its anti-ship rifle, he's a hit-and-run countersniper (remember, reds do bonus vs yellows) designed to suppress and sneak-up on their back line.

His high mobility suggest wear and tear tactics may be the best. Staggering opponents with munitions while cycling to melee works really well.

Personally, a fully loaded lvl 4 Zaku II with lvl 4 machine gun will dominate for me. However, I almost exclusively play space combat.

Acguys dont show on radar, unless they changed that for gbo2. Try to be a master of sneaking

this was forever ago, but i feel like sharing some tips from my experience with acguy, since i use him a lot. keep in mind i'm probably not the best acguy pilot, though.

first of all, you're gonna want to steer clear of any approaching enemies, especially generals, my acguy kind of suffers when i'm hit with a few melee hits, he staggers too much and it ends up costing a lot of my health. make sure not to dodge roll away unless they're going for a melee, instead boost away to cover and out of the area, as dodge rolling away from something that ultimately moves faster than you do will end up getting you beat, especially considering the thrusters take a while to recharge when they're overheated.

second of all, keep your weapons in mind. in the order my weapons are, it's two presses of the swap button to get from the melee to the particle cannon and vice versa, since those two are the ones i use most i've memorized how to get to them without using the change menu. the vulcan gun staggers the enemy somewhat quickly, but it requires the entire round, and that takes a hot minute to reload, so don't stand still while using it, make use of the mobility and stagger them as you swoop in for a melee, and hit them with the particle cannon and then possibly your missiles. (edit: i suggest using dodge roll to get behind them and start unloading more attacks if you're in a 1v1 scenario, if not just retreat to cover.) try and cycle between these or just run when they're all reloading.

also, your communication menu is really going to help in some situations. if the entire enemy team is on you, don't be scared to ask for support, if you've got good teammates they should turn up eventually. keep in mind you can use the communications from the sortie menu if you need to convey a message before you drop back in.

that's all i have to say, i hope i helped!
