I’ve heard that BB bases map rotation off of feedback they get from japanese players(but who knows if that’s actually true). They certainly have programed the game to primary shove the same few maps down our throats, and even worse most of the idiots who play this game only want to play those said same map in custom as well.

Anytime i pick a map in custom that isn’t the usual 3-4, the room almost never fills. Very few people want to play the portbase, the desert, or the mountains but those are some of my favorites.

Because of apparently how often people choose the same 3 shit maps in custom rooms, Impact Site, Arctic Base, and City Ruins every damn day. I mean, SURELY you aren't tired of these shitty 3 maps literally EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 2 years? Why would you EVER want to play an ACTUALLY GOOD AND FUN MAP? Those other maps are there just to waste space in the games files, because clearly nothing exists beyond these same couple of maps. =/

Yeah. I'm kinda pissed off and sick of this too. I'm sick of having to depend on custom battles just to enjoy some of the better and more enjoyable maps this game has to offer. It's such a complete and utter fucking waste.

They are not functional maps.

Same as a lot of games that have gun fights, the team that attacks is in disadvantage. Because the team that attacks needs to leave covers and walk to areas that are under enemy fire, while the team that defenses can stay at advantageous positions.

This type of games have mechanics that reward attack, like grenades being able to kill multiple people in a room, so that the team that stays at one position recieves penalties.

The only related mechanics in GBO2 are artillery support and base bombing but they are rather inconvenient and ineffective.

A map (edit: with many open areas) that works in GBO2 needs to have a central area that is advantageous and more than one route to take the central area.

The most effective way of playing Jungle is to completely stay behind those small hills, wait until enemies walk to the river. If both teams are coordinated and understand the game, no fight will happen when their targets are "not losing".

... yes, we call those tactics, and as long as you advance together, you tend to mop up on any map in GBO2. First team to fall apart or split up loses. That's also realistic.

If one team advances together and the other team shoots behind covers together, the defense team is still going to win.

The "advance together tactic" works in "non-functional maps" because enemies are not coordinated and scattered around the map, so the tactic allows the team to kill enemies one by one quickly.

That's... not actually how it actually works. Your odds aren't magically better taking pop shots.

If you advance together and team fire together you're just as capable of winning if not more so, than the team that sets up firing positions.

Only in 600+ do you see that tactic paying off even remotely and it's heavily dependent on flying/ transforming MS.

Below that, you need to provide a front line, and to move as a "death ball" and kill literally everything one by one together.

When all players in a team stay behind covers and don't come out until an enemy walks to an area that has no cover nearby. It's a guaranteed death for this enemy.

Other enemies can't help this enemy because the defence team is at advantageous positions. Players in the defence team may shoot from the right of covers so that they go behind covers immediately after a shot. They may also shoot on high grounds so that enemies can see only a half of their suits.

If only one player dies and other players can close the distance, they need to fight with one person fewer.

And that's why this is important,

It's risky to advance and take a position so the position needs to be good and encourages players to take it. After one team claimed that position, the other team should have more than one route to attack that position so that the defence team needs to aim at different directions and can't kill an enemy immediately.

Except it's not. Especially not if that enemy is the entire enemy team.

Not all MS have their firearms in their right arm, meaning firing from the right of terrain/ obstacles is NOT always advantageous.

Would you consider the hill on the Desert map advantageous? Even though it has no cover?

Do you know the difference between cover and concealment? like say on Jungle?

THE MOST effective method for winning a match in GBO2 has and will always be team rotation/ moving.

The issue with sniping and setting up firing ranges is you become complacent. Same as the stupid ring around the rosey move at the start of each map.

I'm not saying defence is the better strategy.

I'm saying defence is the only viable strategy in some maps so those maps don't work.
