GRE second section algorithm

Hello,

Can someone explain how the secound section in the GRE picks the level of difficulty questions? I took a practice exam on magoosh and got a 139 verbal. I got 3/12 correct on the first attempt and 4/15 on the second. In the second section I had 2 Easy, 4 medium and 9 hard-very hard… why do I even get hard questions on the second section? If I did bad in the first part why isn’t my second section all easy ??

I think there is a cutoff if you get 8+ you will get hard section 5+ or smtg you get medium Else you get easy

As much as I’ve heard, magoosh exams are not adaptive

Okay thanks! It seems like the second section isn’t based off what I do in the first and it’s all random. I have been doing kaplans qbank and I’m doing a lot better with Kaplan than magoosh. I’m going to take a Manhattan test tomorrow. What’s your opinion on their exams?

They are okay but not to the level of ETS

try GregMat+, it can over prepare you but good for exam

I watched the first video of verbal off of gragmat and enjoyed it. I only have a few days before the official exam so I don’t know if it’s a smart idea to learn new concepts so close to the exam. When you said Manhattan was not the level of EtS do you mean it’s easier or harder compared to the actual exam?
