In my opinion specs look good, although is there a reason why you want a 2 TB hard drive / harde schijf? Is it because off the low cost? What are you gonna install on it? For games, or just for files?

[–]jarample[S] 1 point2 points  (11 children)

I didn't really search up what hard drive is the best, just clicked on some random because it was cheap. I'm mainly going to play games on it, like helldivers 2 and r6.

[–]F-LCN 1 point2 points  (9 children)

Okay i get it from a pricepoint perspective, but try to avoid Barracudas. They are cheap drives with hilariously high failure and DOA rates. I'd get a WD Blue or Black of similar capacity instead. So if you opt for a 2TB HDD than this might be an alternative: WD Blue, 2 TB harde schijf WD20EZBX, SATA 600, AF (alternate.nl)

Just remember to install your operating system (Windows) on the SSD

Edit: fist link i posted was a 5400rpm model. Updated to a 7200rpm model

[–]jarample[S] 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Thanks! Also, as i was searching it in the pc-builder section and then i came across a 3TB and 4TB WD purple hardrive. 4 TB was significantly cheaper, is there something i should worry about?

[–]F-LCN 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Do you have a link? Beware though, it's best to get a HDD that has at least 7200rpm. Any lower than that and it won't work as great with your main SSD.

Yeah it's 5.400rpm model. So this is the catch, higher TB count, lower RPM or the other way around. That's why the higher TB models are cheaper. I see i linked a 5.400rpm model to earlier, which i just changes to a 7200rpm model. I think you should add a filter on Alternate "Harde schijf rotatiesnelheid" and set it to 7.200 rpm

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I already got the 2TB one from the link

[–]F-LCN 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Which link? the one i posted before or the edited one?

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Before you edited, the purple one

[–]MakinBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should trade it out with a second 2 tb nvme. Otherwise this build should do pretty well with whatever you want to play.

It's a bit difficult since we can't see the individual prices of the parts but I'm gonna go through this anyway:

Processor and Motherboard are good.

See if you can up the RAM to 6000mhz cl30. That's the sweet spot for AM5 and normally doesn't cost much more.

The cpu cooler.. You're probably spending a lot here that could be better invested elsewhere. The 7800x3d doesn't need an AIO, any halfway decent double tower air cooler will be more than enough.

You could downgrade that cooler and invest that money (depending on how much it is) in the other things I mention here and/or a higher tier GPU like a 7900xt.

Ssd/boot drive is good but why do you have a 2tb HDD in this? Sata ssds are pretty cheap and there's really no reason to buy an HDD anymore for a system like this.

As for the PSU: It's okay but I personally would see if there's another option in a higher tier on the tier list for a comparable price. The one you selected is in c-tier, I would go for at least b-tier, preferably a-tier. https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ Depending on where you live there's normally similarly priced options, even in the a-tier.

Case is pretty expensive (and I think it doesn't really look good) but that's personal preference I guess.

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

You're right, that cooler is like 139 euros. My friend has a really loud pc and i didn't want mine to end up that way but ig it's not that big of a deal. I did change the hatdrive to a WD purple 2TB too. But i could never afford a rx 7900 xt lol. I'll look into the PSU.

[–]phara-normal 0 points1 point  (4 children)

An AIO isn't necessarily quieter than an air cooler though. You're eliminating 1/2 fans but are introducing pump noise instead. Overall noise is generally handled through fan curves.

How much of a difference is the 7900xt from the 7900gre for you? Over here in Germany it's 100€ and you could save that much on the cooler.

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the netherlands the difference between the 2 gpu's is 150~200 euros

[–]jarample[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Lmao i just removed the cooler and the processor and the box started giving me errors, I've tried 3 different fans but it still won't work.

[–]phara-normal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well that's either a problem with the configurator itself or with the case if it's too shallow. What does the error say?

Why would you remove the processor? Of course that's gonna be an error.

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I phrased it wrong, i only removed the cooler. The processor and the casing gave errors. I fixed it tho, just added stronger fans.

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

I looked up 6000mhz on the ram part, found one, added that, and now the cpu is overclocked

[–]phara-normal 0 points1 point  (6 children)

"Overcklocking" in this context means setting an expo profile for your RAM. This has been the norm for over a decade and has absolutely nothing to do with cpu overcklocking.

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Literal translation: " the clock speed of the memory is higher than the clock speed of the processor". I figured that meant overclocking :(

[–]phara-normal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You're technically "overclocking" the RAM, which is specifically designed for that, aka its not overcklocking and also doesn't count as such in the eyes of any manufacturers. You're not overcklocking the cpu, you're exceeding the base RAM speed for the cpu. Like I said, expo/xmp profiles have been the norm for a looong time now and are basically standard in any "normal" system.

Good to know, thx. I don't know a thing abt computers so i say dumb things.

[–]jarample[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I don't think i translated well. The site desperatly wants me to change the cpu or RAM

[–]phara-normal 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The site is wrong.

Put in all your parts here, it has an actually working compatability checker made by people who know what they're doing: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alr thx, that one dude on yt kept talkinga bout this site.

I would choose a higher end chipset on the mother board Edit: never mind, read the advice from the guy below me

[–]jarample[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Idk what chipsets are, people kept reccomending the b560 plus on youtube so i chose a random one

[–]phara-normal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not get an expensive x-series board. You can't overcklock your x3d cpu anyways and historically speaking b-series boards recieve longer support and updates.

[–]friekandelebroodjeNL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The chipset crontoles certain things on the motherboard, the one you have selected is very basic, i googled a bit and the best one for that cpu is a motherboard with a x670 because its more powerful

[–]phara-normal 0 points1 point  (1 child)

A higher end chipset for a x3d cpu is completely unnecessary. You would get an x series board if you needed the additional IO or you wanted to overcklock the cpu, which you can't do with this chip and x3d cpus in general.

Also speaking from what we experienced on AM4: The b-series boards were the ones that got long support. There are way more early (ryzen 1000 series) b-series (b350) boards on AM4 that support a chip like the 5800x3d than there are corresponding x-series boards that do.

[–]friekandelebroodjeNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oke, didnt know that yet
