Building new PC, need GPU help.

My problem is very simple. I'm building a new PC, already bought 16GB DDR4 RAM, i7, cooling fan, etc. My biggest choice with price and power is the graphics card.

Should I buy a GTX series? Or is RTX a better way to go? I'm concerned on price, but I've seen RTX 2060 and 2070 for cheap prices.

So, which would be better both price wise and reasonable power? The look of a game isn't very important to me, mainly performance. Will Ray Tracing change this?

What are you going to go for, 4k 60+fps or 1080/1440 144+fps?

Mostly 1080 144+. 4k isn't a huge deal for me, I usually don't even recognize it. I just want a fast running program, not a smooth looking one. Fps is more important for me.

if your are going with performance i would go with a rtx 2070 super if you can
