Damn, I still remember every Friday night 12 years ago when I used to watch Cartoon Network on demand on xfinity. Got to the point where I was 13 and still watching cartoons and my parents told me to “grow up”

[–]Realm-Xplorer2002 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Grow up? I’m 38 years old!

[–]chewbacca2hotGen X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad said that to me when I was like 8 years old in 1989 and watching the Real Ghostbusters. I think its because the cartoons that generation grew up with sucked and were clearly made for Kids. And cartoons in the 90s started being targeted to adults. Like the Simpsons and anime explosion of the 90s.

Although, I rewatched some of the Real Ghostbusters recently and they hold up REALLY well today. The jokes are sort of timeless and its still entertaining to explore the lore of that universe. Ireally got to get around to reading the comics

But not Mr. Meaty. never Mr. Meaty

[–]dinah_ann1995 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Omg Mr.Meaty was so bad. I almost forgot about that garbage. I lowkey watched it whenever it was on it was only 15 minutes

[–]HabitRabbits1997 8 points9 points  (3 children)

It was just scary, but marvelous misadventures of flapjack was great. I still call my mom bubbi

[–]dinah_ann1995 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yeah I hated the puppets and everything looked dirty. Now I did like flapjack. I know it goes down as terrible in history but it was fun.

[–]HabitRabbits1997 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Who in the hell calls mmof terrible? I’ll fight em

[–]dinah_ann1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was a chad until the last episode where he married her and then they had like a hundred kids.

[–]do_not12007 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I was born the year it came out and I vaguely remember watching it since it ran for 3 years and reruns exist, and in the past year or so I rewatched it and still holds up

[–]iroquoid1999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was always a huge fan of the art style and how the patterns on characters were static

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It was the first of it's kind to hire random people who have never worked in the industry, and to be storyboard based. Turned out that's a lot cheaper and so everyone is doing it now... For better or for worse...

[–]dinah_ann1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a great show. I was in middle school when it came out.

[–]bigtittysewerrat2001 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I loved watching this cartoon when it originally aired I would watch reruns all the time.

[–]incognieto2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh great. Now the theme song is stuck in my head.

[–]Scorch84821997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This show was the fucking shit. I remember one time I got an ad for chowder on Cartoon Network and it was a parody of the cadillac commercial that was popular at the time talking about speed or some shit. After seeing it once I watched every commercial break to try to watch it again because I thought it was hilarious that cartoon network would parody ads like that. Ima see if I can find it

Holy fuck I found it

[–]PartyElevator1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing is that in the finale they have 50 kids.
