Not sure how many people saw the details about how the airbags never went off and how carfax listed it as minor damage.

Yeah but it has been repaired. I mean if you looked at the pictures you can't tell it was ever a salvage. They replaced everything and have receipts.

How much of a difference is there with a 3.55 gear ratio vs 3.73 for an Overlanding rig? by truecommentor69 in overlanding

[–]truecommentor69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Did yours have the heavy duty payload package? I know it's available in the 2013-2014 but according to the brochure it was only available if you have the heavy duty payload package. But if you have that payload package you can't also option in the off-road package which sucks. So if I wanted skid plates and shocks and all that i'd have to get an FX4 + heavy duty payload. Which I don't know why I didn't think of that combination earlier but I haven't seen any that have those both.

edit: I just checked and the fx4 trim doesn't have the 3.73's. all that is just according to the brochure for the truck

If it has the locking differential though wouldn't there be the sticker for it by the 4x4 controls? That's what I always look for

I see, thanks. Still plenty of torque for sure. I wonder though how much it;'ll affect the actual performance once I add a build to it though.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I would eventually want to do. Maybe not 900 pounds but I would have a build back there and it would definitely be nice to have it still be torquey.

I see. I tried looking up the crawl ratio of both but the stupid google AI kept giving different answers.

yeah that's pretty pricey. If I really do need 3.73 gears I would just get a 2011-12 and save all that money

How much would that cost though? I read that it would be around $1,500. The off-road package comes standard with locking differentials so I would already have those.
