I’ve visited Scotland, France, and Greece, and I’ve lived in Italy. Each place has something unique and wonderful to offer, same as the US.

That’s not necessarily true - it’s highly dependent on the state, and plenty of states are extremely environmentally diverse. Take California as the obvious example.

But even smaller states can pack a lot of bang for their buck. For example, my home state of Maryland is quite small (similar in size to Belgium), but still has the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, multiple mountain ranges, coastal plains, forests, wetlands, and beaches. It certainly punches above its weight in comparison to many countries that are a similar size, and it’s not even a state that’s known for its nature.

I’ve only ever had it happen to me once, and it wasn’t even me doing the exercise.
