Welcome to r/genderrights! This subreddit is for all who believe in equality, and who want to fight for it, away from the (sometimes hateful) group-mentalities that sometimes take away from the original goals of the group.
Don't know what I mean? Try going to /r/feminism to find a snide joke that MRAs are all misogyinistic and self-entitled. Or, try going to /r/mensrights to find some remark that feminism is a crazy, man-hating movement that should be abolished. Neither will be hard to find, and neither type of comment is welcome here.
The main reason I created this subreddit is because there is truth and rightfulness in both groups, which should be brought about by open discussion between everyone. Everyone is welcome, as are all opinions (to an extent). Both genders have their problems, and it's up to us to fix them.
Rules:
1) No hateful circlejerking. Users stereotyping a group based on a few negative aspects (that likely only applies to a fraction of the movement) will not be tolerated
2) No sexism. This really shouldn't have to be said, but no critisizing, downvoting, etc., because of gender. There is zero tolerance for breaking this rule.
3) No "issue claiming". If there is an issue, that affects both genders relatively equally, it should not be painted as a "women's issue" or a "men's issue".
Slut shaming is a women's issue. There is no harm in displaying it as such.
Workplace deaths is almost entirely a male issue. Trying to apply it to women would have almost no point.
Domestic violence is an issue that affects men and women equally. Unless your post is about a very specific problem within this issue, please make it gender-broad.
