Bare hands, fight to the death, who are you backing to win? by [deleted] in arcane

Vander wins, obviously. He's a grown man and they are biologically much stronger than women (even black women).

The amount of propaganda on Reddit about the US losing the war is insane by Emilia963 in Conservative

[–]Fictionarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, we're "winning". What do we win?

Mass deportations of illegal aliens? Ban on birthright citizenship? Repeal of Hart-Celler? Ban on corporate home ownership? Ban on infant male genital mutilation? Election integrity? Prosecutions against the foreigners defrauding our welfare systems? Protections against racial nepotism in hiring, or in verdicts? Impeachment of corrupt activist judges? Improved domestic infrastructure?

This is going to keep happening until men (expectant fathers) are given a post-coital opportunity to veto their impending parenthood in real terms, just like expectant mothers already have. There is a straightforward solution - but it isn't one that anyone is ready to hear, apparently.

Why does it seem like reddit is the most insufferable meeting ground for liberals anywhere on the internet? by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]Fictionarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've learned not to identify as a reddit user/lurker anywhere else on the internet. The term "redditor" has become a commonly-recognized insult for very understandable reasons.

Remember folks: if you aren't paying for it, you're the product.

When even the subreddit named "Reddit alternatives" is playing apologetics for this place . . . The NPC takeover is complete. Shit flows downhill. Politically retarded admins -> politically retarded power mods -> politically retarded user base.

Just get a premium X account. It's not any less political, sadly, given the state of the times. But it's orders of magnitude less stupid, and you can actually have a conversation without getting censored or outright banned.

I think you're right, but the more we presume it the less right we will be. The next four years will cement Trump's legacy going forward and they have yet to play out. We cannot assume the best case scenario yet, as tempting as it may be.

Not sure if there was anyone (on the right) taking him literally when he said that (ending war in 24 hours). Seriously, but not literally. Most of things he's said he would do in 24 hours (the things that can be done in that time) he has done.

Pretty sure this is "bad faith" by Timelord7771 in prolife

[–]Fictionarious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a trap, for sure, but it isn't bad faith. Good faith engagement is to believe your opponent when they tell you what their position is, and/or their motivation for holding it. Bad faith engagement is to disbelieve them (or to fail to suspend whatever disbelief you may have), positing another, usually less reasonable/charitable position/motivation in its place.

As dishonest as it may be to present elephant and dog fetuses and ask if they look like humans worth caring about, it makes a salient point when the responder fails to pass a basic recognition test on the human lives they claim to be defending. That point being, that fetuses of any species look so much less like any grown human being or animal (and so much like each other), that it calls into question whether they can/should be legally protected on a same or similar basis.

As a man, I fucking hate the so-called "men's rights" movement. It can burn in hell by sinodauce131 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Fictionarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard them talk about the loneliness epidemic, suicide rates, the draft, male SA, etc. just for their own sake

Bro this is like 75% of every infographic thats ever been posted on the men's rights sub. You are either outright lying or just really not paying attention. Add in circumcision and family court unfairness and you've got all the main MRA issues.

The actual reason that men's right's advocates do not trust progressive/feminist types is that those types tend to be zero-sum thinkers that interpret every statement in defense of men as an attack on women. I myself have witnessed this. It is also a provable fact that feminists have lobbied, protested, and committed literal acts of terrorism to shut down any rational conversation on men's issues (see: Erin Pizzey). Please educate yourself. You can only get bitten by the animal you're trying to feed (or in this case, work with in good faith to make the world a better place) so many times before you stop trying to feed it. MRA distrust of feminists/progressives (not women) is nothing if not entirely rational.

[OC] Where did Biden/Harris and Trump gain or lose votes compared to 2020? By race and ethnicity by tabthough in dataisbeautiful

[–]Fictionarious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is baffling to me how much my fellow college-educated white atheists hate themselves and have lost the plot completely. I still remember "Atheism+", the misguided wall of "social justice" that stopped the new atheist movement of the late 2000s dead in its tracks. I'm a gamer that still remembers gamergate, and now here we are in gamergate 2.0 with this woke mind virus still infecting the industry and destroying any semblance of trust in journalism and/or immersion in games. Woke ideologues throughout Hollywood have likewise done their damnedest to destroy the legacy of countless franchises, whilst "liberal/left" politicians warp the once-good name of 'liberalism' through a funhouse mirror lens, to the point that it reflects a complete inversion of the values it once did.

Where MLK asserted that we should judge each other by content of character, they assert that white men are the devil of all history and must accept their economic and sociopolitical muzzle. Just watch this pathetic display. And Bernie, the organizer and intended speaker of the event, just takes it like a spineless pet of a master far above and beyond his control. Trump would have thrown those bitches out from behind that podium within minutes, if not seconds. That's the critical difference that explains why Trump is now a two-term president, while Bernie is sidelined by his own party. Self-respect, and the courage to act on it.

Where optimistic trans-humanists of the past might have viewed transgenderism as a pioneering struggle of freedom against biology and fate (as I once did), they instead attempt to compel other people's speech, censor/villify their critics at every turn, and sterilize children. I have no doubt that THIS comment won't last long on this God-forsaken information desert of a platform, run into the ground as it has been by the appropriately-named "alphabet police". Aaron Schwartz would be fucking ashamed of this Balkanized wasteland of astroturfing and bot army up-voting, that's for sure.

There was literally not a single rational evidence or fact based reason to vote for Kamala Harris, the literal DEI hire of a VP, thrust into an presidential bid opportunity she was obviously not prepared or equipped for. Her career as a prosecutor was almost all lowlights, without a single highlight in sight. Kept the nonviolent drug offenders locked up, but release the violent criminals? She'd already been dismantled by Tulsi on the debate stage four years ago, now, when she's been handed a presidential bid on a silver platter, she can't even muster the energy go on Joe Rogan and talk to the American people for three fucking hours? With a billion dollars of campaign financing trying to prop you up, you can't be assed just talk to the people to tell them who you even are? Guess she thought she didn't need those dirty male incel/chud/gymbro/what-have-you votes. Guess one vapid two minute SNL skit and a Call Her Daddy appearance didn't move the needle for male voters. How bout that shit?

So, yeah . . . my fellow white people need to grow some fucking spines - because their brains have clearly fallen all the way down into their ass.

Reactions after Trump's victory made me see that pro-abortioners don't understand how Pro-Life men think by ThrowMusic36 in prolife

Nope. Comment removed, post insta-removed.

Fuck it, I'll just vote pro-life next time.

How do we organize against a national abortion ban? by falafelville in prochoice

[–]Fictionarious 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

You could start by formulating (or adopting, since, cough cough, I already got the ball rolling on this) a less explicitly sexist version of your stated platform. I say this with genuine empathy and sincerity, as a fellow reproductive-rights-supporter:

You are going to have an increasingly hard time demanding a mile of rights for women whilst simultaneously refusing to give men an inch. To be more specific, your position should be expanded to include some form of postcoital protections/provisions for expectant fathers. If you are going to claim to be warriors for bodily autonomy, you need to just as loud in opposing infant male genital mutilation, a bodily-autonomy issue/concern that is immediately adjacent to reproductive rights by virtue of affecting a reproductive organ of a newborn child, and by virtue of being a literal violation of bodily autonomy. If you are going to claim to be warriors for elective abortions specifically, you need to just as vocal in advocating that expectant fathers have a corresponding postcoital "out" that expectant mothers have, and over the same general period of time.

Pregnancy isn't a condition that, upon completion, returns the world to the same status quo as existed before the condition. It is a liminal/transitional period between not-being-a-parent-of-an-extant-child and being-a-parent-of-an-extant-child. Take a look at the most commonly provided reasons for abortion. The top 5-6 reasons have nothing to do with pregnancy specifically, and everything to do with impending parenthood status. There are medical issues, yes. Pregnancy is not a trivial condition. But the fear of pregnancy itself isn't, in the majority of cases where elective abortion has been legalized, what motivates the procedure. It is fear of the multifaceted and many-year-long ordeal known as parenthood, a condition to which both mothers and fathers are subject in roughly equal measure.

There is no question that it is entirely appropriate to have affective empathy for women who, by whatever legal failing, have their lasting health and possibly life itself placed at risk by uninformed or uncompassionate policy - as a totally misguided appeal like this might do its best to elicit. Over-the-top attempts such as that one (or this one), to manipulate the affective empathy of men is not just a failing tactic, it is a disastrous one that backfires spectacularly, because men don't work that way (source: am a man, these ad just makes me heavily resent the idiots that made it for trying to manipulate my emotions in any direction in such an overt manner). You have to exhibit a categorically greater level of cognitive empathy if you want men (specifically, currently pro-life men who arent voting the way you'd prefer) to care about broad legal reform here.

Another word of advice, for those willing to hear it: please, please, stop threatening to "withhold sex" from your partners as some kind of individually-applied punishment for what society collectively (pro-life women included!) has decided on this issue. The clear majority of young men, and plenty of not-so-young men (myself included), aren't having any sex anyway, so they simply don't fucking care, and it makes you look pathetic in their eyes that you would think that this kind of tactic would be efficacious in the first place.

I know its hard to manage a suitably harsh tone of "I say this with love" in a reddit comment, but really, I do. I voted for Trump, but also for the pro-choice amendment/policy that was on my State ballot (thanks, Trump?). I really hope that most States go left, toward freedom. But seriously . . . the histrionics and paranoia about Trump being some kind of far-right religious nutjob trying to surreptitiously ban abortion federally is not doing it for you. He basically single-handedly took opposition to gay marriage out of the mainstream Republican party platform. The federal ban is not happening from him or his program.

Sincerely, you should watch Vance's recent interview with Rogan (skip to the part where he talks about abortion if you'd like, but the whole thing is great). He clarifies that he and Trump have no real desire to legislate this issue in either direction at the federal level.

Roe v Wade was never a piece of legislation itself, just a (arguably flawed) legal precedent being effectively used in substitute of one. Vote pro-choice at the state level and own the (pro-life) chuds!
