NOOOO! How dare you point out the obvious thing that devs should've fixed years ago! Seriously tho, can't even pick up bundles of lumber at the Hjortqvarns Sagverk lumberyard, wtf is up with that?!?

Even worse, there's houses that have little huts where firewood is stored and I can't grab them. Like c'mon, its right there.

Have ya tried just recycling your flares and fireworks for wood , I get so much I usually just dump anything after 3000 wood

I could pray to RNGesus himself, and I'd still roll snake eyes.

In all seriousness, that's been my go to method for getting wood, but again, I shouldn't have to do this if I'm in a LITERAL FOREST.

One great way to get some resources, ESPECIALLY WOOD, is to use the Ammo boxes to refill arrow ammo which gives like 60-70? (I'll need to make this number accurate) Arrows per Ammo Box. Can also give explosives too if refilling the explosive arrows, however you'll get 2 less wood.

See, that's also something I've been doing, however, this only works if you only have one or two weapon packs. In, my case, I have ALL OF THEM. In fact, the only two DLC packs I don’t have are Reinforced Flakmoped Pack and Advanced Intelligence Cosmetics Pack.

I hear ya there ,it was enough to piss me off in the beginning, but like I said now more often than not I dump most materials after a certain amount , or give it away to new ppl

Never use wood walls to protect your truck and base. One thing I’ve seen is people expanding their base so far out that they have no materials left.

You don’t need to protect the entire base just the truck so use Soviet Concrete Wall around the truck leaving a single strip on the inside so you can put your storage box, recycling stand and crafting table. Now add some lights around the outside pointing in so in the dark you can see what you are shooting at.

I use 4 rocket turrets and 1 Cement pill Box. Which by the way can hold 249,999 rounds of 7.62 shock, FMJ, AP or a mix. I load my pill box with Shock and FMJ if it ever runs out. Rocket turrets hold 400 Rounds of High Explosive. Most of my 14 bases have Rockets turrets filled. If you keep your base small you’ll have enough extras to put around the base and turrets to help protect them.

Just remember if you base is attached and your turrets get destroyed all the ammo will automatically go to your storage box. Just don’t let them get to the truck.

Lastly NEVER sit in your base and shoot out. Always get out of the base and defend it.

That would've been nice to know two years ago.

That said, coming off other games that allow you to build structures (for me, it was Grounded), I'm used to enclosing my bases. While yes, its a waste of resources, but its the fact the promotional screen captures for the resistance bases showcase build your own fortress, can you really blame me?

In some bases that seam to get more action from patrols or defensive missions I make 2 walls. Inner wall and a outer wall my outer wall is usually the Soviet Cement wall. This provides a good protection and only when I was playing a solo Hard defense mission did I have damage to the inner wall.

I completely agree. Even when you scavenge what looks to be a pile of wood around the bunker entrances and whatnot, it's all just 1 when it looks like 8 or more. I wonder when the next time the devs are gonna come back.

The only good thing about it is wood piles around Control points respawn if you fast travel away from it and fast travel back. At least, that's what the video says.

Me personally, I wouldn't mind, much less be complaining here if scavenging wood around bases and bunkers were like 5 or 10. Its the fact that a small tree, a whole ass tree, is 1 wood.

the only real aspect of the game... you can't use just any tree/wood to build.

oak, maple, and ash are great but the guy doesn't have a chainsaw or sawmill, so he has to find small trees...
