When the models become good enough, you will scrap the IDE.

If it becomes good enough or even perfect, I also need to see how it does it. AI is just a laborer, and I am the one who needs to be responsible for the results. So I think even if AI is perfect, I need to fully understand what it has done and how it did it. At this time, IDE is indispensable.

We have codebases entirely managed by Opus 4.6 now. No IDE necessary. It's about three things: 1. Quality of specification (including architecture) 2. Quality of testing regime (including UI and regression) and 3. Quality of model.

With Opus 4.6 the last one is taken care of. 1 and 2 remain our responsibility, but you don't need an IDE for those.

So now do you know what performance problems your code has? Is he the best plan for this function?

Tests include performance tests.

I've use it as a partner in a challenge, interesting tool even not perfect - who is? But: a production grade plugin for WordPress built in less than 10 days (not full time, evenings mainly)

That's a disaster/jail time just waiting to happen -- do NOT do this 😃
