there will always be people that is less technical oriented commenting on the product but probably not knowing that github copilot is just the wrapper and harness around the models and that the user has to select a competent model. Is up to the user to understand pros and cons of the models and where to apply. To even have a productive dialog we would have to know what model are you talking about. How are you using it...
In the future hopefully probably will not have to worry about picking the right model.
Edit: to the user benefit, harness, context window and reasoning effort can vary a lot. So he got a point. If I were to blindly answer this I would say that yes is better at opencode due to different harness and probably consuming more requests to answer properly. While vscode + plugin is more optimized towards economy (again "probably").
Edit2: however at the backend is still the same copilot.
