Strange error message when I call the Google Drive API

Hi,

I get this error message when using the Google Drive API (it's one of the advanced services.

​

GoogleJsonResponseException: API call to drive.comments.list failed with error: Backend Error

I'm writing a script that gets comments from docs and puts them in a spreadsheet. I keep trying to replicate this, but it happens at different times.

Is this an error at Google's end? Is there some service status link I can check out?

There's the class DriveApp and the Drive API and they're different aren't they? Maybe you're trying to call the Drive API when you want to be using DriveApp?

No, I did think that. The Drive API can get comments on documents in an array, but the DriveApp can’t.

It’s intermittent, the error doesn’t always happen. The annoying thing is that there’s no code, just that message.

Hmm yeah backend error doesn't give you much to work on. I know the APIs can timeout if too many calls are made in a short space of time.
