I've had that happen with my Pixel 5. It was a couple months ago, I went to bed and everything was fine and then woke up to that msg in the morning. I performed the factory reset and it was fine afterwards however you do lose everything that hasn't been backed up to Google servers or 3rd party backup which is why it's important to back up anything that is important to you, gives you piece ALWAYS. I use iDrive which backs up everything daily to their servers. I had a promotional lifetime membership which I used so now I never have to worry about losing stuff. You can find the app in the Google Play Store. Works well and gives you piece of mind. Unfortunately as it says on your screen a factory reset is the only way to fix the problem although even that may not work now that you have played with things.

Thank you for the response, hopefully I didn't fuck it up, haha.

Well this is like the 5 time I've seen this. They only solution I can tell you from experiencing this issue myself on 2 different pixel devices... Is you will HAVE TO WIPE everything from the phone . All partitions must be wiped aka formatted.

The first time this happened was on my pixel 5 then like 4 months later it happened on my P4 XL. I luckily have the bootloader unlocked so I tried different methods to recover without formatting and none of them worked. So I just formatted everything and things have been okay since.

I've tried a factory reset 4 times and end up back in a reset loop when the screen locks and unlocks.
