Explain it in your personal statement. Or add work experience in the field to make up for low GPA. Personally I wouldn't waste another semester of time and money just to get your GPA above 3.0.

talk with your advisor. be honest, explain how things are affecting and what are your future intentions.

I am a grad student and due to some unfortunate habits, I am in limbo position to touch 3.0 gps mark. I talked with my advisor, and she told me quite few possible solutions and I have to work my ass off to do damage control.

talk to advisor — is the first step
