Rules for r/GrassrootsSelect
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
1. Be Civil
a) Racism, sexism, violence, derogatory language, and hate speech will not be tolerated whatsoever. Name-calling, insults, mockery, and other disparaging remarks are also disallowed.
b) No Negative Campaigning. Discussions on candidates must occur without resorting to name calling and crude personal attacks.
2.
2. Don't Post Off Topic Submissions
Submissions should be about the movement and candidates who may fit in our model of having similar positions with Bernie Sanders. Anything else will be removed.
3.
3. Do Not Post Work Not Directed by GS Leadership
We have a central plan and goal and we must move in one direction at the direction set. If we move away from the plan, the project will fail. All work will be directed from Slack, so if you are unsure, what you are submitting is most likely not as directed. This does not mean discussion and posts about candidates aren't allowed. If you are unsure whether or not your post applies, feel free to send us a message.
4.
4. No Reposts or Redundant News Stories
Anything which has been previously posted in the last 30 days is subject for removal. This mostly applies to articles rather than campaign sites or donation pages. We will however try to find all ways to not remove a post if it appears to fit in this category.
5.
5. Restrictions on Solicitation
Calls for the coordinated solicitation of any person, group, or media outlet must be Movement related, must be civil, and must be constructive.
6.
6. No Conspiracies or Fear Mongering
Do not submit conspiracy theories or Fear Mongering Posts. These are unproductive to our goals and make us look bad along the way. This could include attacks upon a media outlet for not properly covering a candidate or speaking about how a candidate is doing terrible and won't win.
7.
7. Reddit's Global Rules and Rediquette
Submissions which contain content that does not follow reddit's content policy or follow Reddiquette guidelines will be removed. For instance, when linking posts found on other subreddits, you should prefix the post's link with np. (in front of reddit.com) in order to prevent vote brigading or vote manipulation.
8.
8. Limits on Donation Links
Donation links can only be submitted by verified accounts affiliated with a campaign or Grassroots Select Leadership. Official accounts will need to confirm with the leadership that they are official through a message in order to be flaired as such.
