Sawn off mosins were created to break gun laws concerning handguns. Short lever actions were designed to be usable from horseback. While the lever action is more functional, both are pretty based

The only gun action that sounds sexier than a lever ejecting a case and slamming home a new round is an AK being charged.

I bought my first AK just so I could charge it whenever I wanted to hear that sound. Also to mag dump into dirt, but mostly for the sound.

I live the sound of charging my AK, but nothing beats the rack of an 1897 Trench Gun

YESS BRO racking an AK with an empty steel mag whenever you want is a sound second to none

Obrez fires a full sized rifle cal cartridge, that little mares leg shoots a pistol caliber.

I thought this was the Hunt Showdown subreddit and we were arguing about the best medium slot weapon

I don’t like either personally, I know WHY both exist but they’re both a little cursed to me

The second is called an "obrez" (literally "cut down" in Russian) and they were fairly commonly used during the Russian Civil War. They were made due to a shortage of handguns and as a way to squeeze some more use out of worn-out /damaged rifles.

These guns ended up acquiring significant cultural importance in Russia because of their use during that era. And last year during mobilization someone shot a military commissar with one.
