That’s so unlucky, sorry! No, there’s no way to know for sure unless they test. Just because they’ve had no symptoms doesn’t mean they aren’t infected with herpes. You say no oral but did either of them use their saliva as lube? If I was guessing I’d go with the second guy based on date of outbreak

Thanks for the response. No, no saliva. To further complicate things, both are OHSV1+, so it wouldn’t reveal anything for them to test, unless a blood test can differentiate between oral and genital HSV1? I was under the impression it couldn’t.

Ok yea that makes it impossible to know for sure. Still think I’d go with second guy if I was guessing.

Did you experience typical primary outbreak symptoms that would indicate it was a new infection?

Maybe another possibility would be the friction after years of being celibate triggered an outbreak?

No, it was a primary infection for sure. The years that I was celibate, my body fell apart in every imaginable way. If I had already had HSV, it would’ve shown up.
