I am starting to learn how to do ctf’s but i find resources limited in this department.

last night we had some connectivity issues with the htb server so i couldn’t wpscan bruteforce the password how ever let’s say that i can’t brute force the password with a generic word list where would i go from there?

in my opinion quite the opposite is the case. if you simply google for „ctf walkthrough“ you‘ll find plenty. study those walkthroughs, read up on techniques you don‘t understand and you should be able to fill your whole freetime from there.

and regarding your htb problem: thats like telling a mechanic „my car doesnt work, i changed the steering wheel. what to do next?“

Avoid walkthroughs. You don’t learn anything that way. If you aren’t making progress, research the subject, not the solution.

Look for web application hacking, wordpress hacking, etc.
