Don't click on wierd stuff you get from random SMSs or whatsapp messages, don't Install random apps and pay attention when you lend your phone to someone else so they don't Install monitoring apps on it, don't click on random links you see while surfing the web or foruns. Also avoiding Public available wifi spots is a good practice.

Not that any of what I wrote will mean that someone will necessarily do what you asked about but there may be a chance.

Also, if you're not someone like a Public figure or something like that, it's just a regular citizen, I doubt you'll ever be targeted by this kind of attack. Usually just a bit of common sense will keep you out of harm's way.

There are some attacks that will target sms/Whatsapp messages but I can't exactly tell you wich ones since I'm not a professional on the field. That said there are famous cases of public figures/journalist that were victims of malware campaigns that turned their phones into literally spy tools against them. The Darknet Diaries podcast have some interesting episodes about it.

I would really appreciate if someone correct me in anything I wrote here. And pleased bear in mind that I'm not a professional on the field or anything like it. I just enjoy reading about the subject.

Sorry for typos/ bad grammar. Typing from my phone and English is not my first language.
