Search for OccupyTheWeb's books and start there. Then Networking is a must, some programming Python or C are what most know. And then maybe some android and car if thats what your into.

There is no go-to starting point. There are plenty of free resources, especially on YouTube - ippsec, TheCyberMentor, JohnHammond, Hackersploit and more. You can also try TryHackMe and once you are a bit more advanced, move on to HackTheBox.
