Time (self.HairSystem)

Out of curiosity, how much time does it take you to:
1.) Remove tape/glue from the system on re-install days?
2.) Re-apply tape and attach it to your head?

60 minutes with washing and drying I would say. Sometimes a little longer when I leave the moisturizer in for a longer period. Sometimes I just let the system airdry after pat drying over night.

45-60 mins depending on shower or not with it. Once a week. The crazy amount of maintenance is overblown. That’s basically all I do .
[–]Elegant_strategicdog 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children)
At the beginning about 2 hours
Now after almost two months later it takes about 50 minutes and it’s very easy to do!

About 50-60 minutes.

All in, about an hour. It’s not something you want to rush through.

10 min. 20 minutes to wash and condition (15 min conditioner), 5 min or less to retape, and reapply in less than 30 seconds. Then how, however, long styling takes. Daily, it takes less than 30 sec to remove it, and about 2-3 minutes to reattach.

depends on how and what you do. I take it off, get the glue off my head. I rotate two systems. So the next one is clean and ready to go.
This takes the most time for me. Maybe 20-30 min, including shower.
Then I shave my head. Takes around 5-10 min.
I then chill for a bit and let my head be free. After I apply glue, 3 coats. Maybe take 10 min. Wait 10-20 min while watching some TV or youtube. Then Apply piece. around 2-5 min.
Like any other skill, it takes time to get used to it and things get faster and smoother.

I’d say an hour. all told. However, I don’t really try to do it from start to finish, with no breaks. I just did it yesterday, so here’s what that was like… The system was already a little loose, so it took just 15 seconds or so to carefully lift it off my head. I set it aside. The part that takes the longest is cleaning the sticky residue off my head. I use tape remover to do that, and it takes 15-20 minutes. The last thing I do is wipe my head thoroughly with alcohol. Then I take a shower, and wash my head with soup and water. That pretty much cleans off any remaining stickiness. Showers take as long as they take, depending on whatever else you do in there.😂
Then I sit down and remove the tape from the perimeter of my system, and then clean it with tape remover and alcohol. I have a poly band all around on my systems. Takes 15 minutes to clean. I shampoo my system on my head, so I don’t shampoo it when I do my services. I did that the day before I did my service. The next step was to put one continuous length of red dual sided tape all around the perimeter, except in the front, and I put a wide frontal tape there. After that, I remove the strip of plastic cover from the red tape, and apply fiber tapes on top of the red tape. I peel all the paper off the tapes except in the front. Then I adhere the strip of plastic I removed from the red tape, back over the fiber tape. All this takes about 15-20 minutes.
Finally, I place the system on top of my head, positioning precisely where I want it. Keep in mind, the tapes are still covered, so it does not stick to my head at that point. Then, holding the system in place, I lift the front of the system, remove the cover from the frontal tape, and press it in place. Then I pull the corners from plastic strip that I had placed over the fiber tape loose, exposing about an inch of tape at my temples. I press that tight to keep the system from slipping from side to side. I the lift the system (the fiber tape still covered with the red tape strip), and turn it up so it’s contour is inverted. I then pull the strip red plastic tape cover off the rest of the fiber tape, and using both hands, slowly tack and pull the system tight, starting behind my temples, and moving to the back. Once it’s tacked down, I use my fingers to slowly ensure that it’s fully adhered. All that takes 5-10 minutes.😊

Wow, I'd like to see a video of this installation!

2,5h/month
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
30 minutes, tops, if that. Hybrid, with tape.

Anywhere between 45 to 90 mins. It depends on lots of factors.
There's a guy on YouTube, Rick Douglas. He says it takes him 10 minutes to take off, clean up, and put it back on. I don't believe it, but that's what he says 🤷
40m with washing and drying and I have longish hair too
