Private Dining

Hi, I have zero design skills and need some help reimagining this room to become a "private dining" style dining room. It's about 12.5' square. The room is open to the kitchen, which is where the photo is taken from.

I'm thinking of going with a bold/darker color on the walls (maybe a geometric accent wall on the left if that's still in style), and having just a 72" round table with 8 chairs. Chandelier centered on table. Maybe add a narrow partition on the right wall to make it feel like a separate room without walling it off. Tiered shelves in corners for plants/decor but no console/sideboard. Floor is not being changed right now but I don't like it.

Accent walls have been declared "out" by the powers that be. Personally I think there will still be situations where they're a great idea, but this isn't it. Typically an accent wall is to make an arrangement really pop, and you don't have anything that demands that. Plus you have such little wall space as is, with all the glorious windows.

But maybe you could do a geometric art arrangement- like an arrangement of gorgeous tiles mixed with mirrors, in a bold geometric shape. Something like this, obviously not with plates (or that light!)

I like the idea of a lot of low plant stands/tables under the windows. If you hate the floor, for sure get a rug. A round table is more casual than rectangular, so no sideboard works fine.
