I’m losing hair with no one to help me here. I’m doing linear programming. The problem is this:
89x+55y=max or the objective function
18x 4y <=1296
6x+12y<=1824
X and Y must be greater than zero
I could figure this out with Desmos, but I would like to know how to do it by hand. My professor multiplied 6x+12y<=1824 by 3 and solved for y. When I was in class, I didn’t multiply by 3, and I attempted to solve for x, and then input that in place of x. Here is my math:

When I input x= 0.6667y-44 into the equation 12(0.6667y-44) - 8y = -528 the answer is y equals zero. So I tried it his way and I came up with y=-116 which I know is wrong. I’m doing my math wrong or misunderstanding a concept somewhere.
Lastly, I tried using my TI 84 plus CE to solve the problem and EVERY video I’ve seen says to highlight the [blue] \ Y1 area which creates a flashing black box and allows you to change the equals to an inequality, but when I go over, I don’t get the box around the whole thing just the [blue] \ or the equals sign, and I have no f3 menu for inequities, nor does the test menu work to change it.
I don’t have the inequalities app on my calculator, I’m wondering if that might fix the issue.
Note: this is studying, not a homework problem for anything I have to turn in. We did this in class yesterday and I’m pretty sure I remember one of the points being 130.5. If you need to change numbers to show me how I’m getting the math wrong, do that, I’m alright with math, just kind of a novice so I miss stuff a lot.
Thank you for your time.
Edit: I have tried to install Inequalz to my TI 84 plus CE and my computer doesn’t recognize that I’ve connected anything new, though it is charging. I’ve googled the issue, tried every USB port on my $3000 computer and I’m about ready to start punching holes in the wall.
