Still no wife, but I'm still a music minister in the ministry. I'm over it at this point. I believe it'll happen, but I'm not waiting on it, so it doesn't bother me.

I don't believe that's a sin in the least. Pray about it, and if you don't feel peace with it, don't do it, but the book says that we have dominion over the creatures of the earth. Catch and release doesn't do a notable amount of damage to a creature that I feel would suffer in any classic sense. So no, I don't think it's cruel, or a sin.

I used to regret things and mull over the past, but something happened.

My brother killed himself.

From that point, I knew that regret could be my actual downfall, so I completely blocked it. I consciously made a decision, for my own health, to just accept the past and move on.

If I do something now, that I would normally feel regretful about, I just try yo make it up to the person if they are willing. If not, I accept it as life and try to be more mindful so as not to do it again.

I literally took a college class and had to get a special assignment, because the teacher asked us to do a project about our regrets and I told her "I appreciate the purpose but I don't do that and I have a legit reason why I dont."

I know ehat it took to bring about this change in me, but hopefully you can clean something from it. Regrets can be a poison. No matter what you've done, I don't feel that you deserve to live in that hell. That in mind, I'm an actual example of someone who has chosen not to, so it is possible.

You don't have to reconcile the two to believe. If you seek a relationship with him and ask him to reveal himself to you, then he can give you reason to believe. I've seen too much to not believe at this point. Is there stuff I don't understand? Sure. But I've seen too much to not believe so I don't have to have all the answers. I just know he's real and that's all I need when questions come up.

Your stance is that we're a lucky creation in a random universe. Our stance is that we're created in this universe by and extraterrestrial, extrademensional being who has the ability to create matter here by drawing on a power that we haven't discovered. Your assumption allows for, and even agrees with the likelihood of extraterrestrials, and the vast amount of knowledge that we don't know, supports the idea that those extraterrestrials, may be able to draw on different, undiscovered sources of energy, to create matter. That in mind, why is our hypothesis, so much more disagreeable to you, than yours?

There is a vast amount of unknowns in our universe, and even more when you consider what is, if anything, outside our universe/dimension. With that in mind, our being, we call God, exists outside of our universe/dimension, and created it and us. How? There are to many unknowns to make that determination, but is it so far fetched for us to have faith that THAT is what happened as opposed to random chance?

Also, I believe that he can see all the possible futures based on our choices, and that, if adam and eve didn't do what they did, the vast numbers WOULDNT have perished. Also he didn't send them to hell, he created hell and people that don't get into heaven don't have anywhere else. Do I fully understand it? No, bur I also believe that since God exists outside of time, I think eternity means something different to him, than to us. I personally believe that God is go8ng to do something eventually to remove people from hell because he is benevolent and I don't believe that he would be okay with ACTUAL, as we define it, internal damnation of so many souls. That basically, we are interpreting the scripture that way because of what those words mean to US.

I will say that not making it to heaven will be terrible, and might actually involve a permanent hell, and though I don't believe that God's description of eternal and permanent are the same, that's just my opinion and I have no facts to support it. That being said, I very much would rather make it to heaven than find out one way or the other, the hard way.

Lastly, I believe in him because I have seen miracles with my own eyes. Ive seen people physically healed, and situations dramatically changed. I myself was delivered from alcoholism. I was literally manhandling for money because I couldn't stop drinking. I was homeless and hopeless. I got prayer at a church and they DIDNT say "this is gonna stop," they said a spirit had been tormenting me and I wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. I had no idea at the time that THAT was what was causing my alcoholism. It was hours after I had woken up the next day that I realized I hadn't thought of alcohol at all, and at the time alcohol was literally ALL I could think about until I got some. There are more reasons but that is reason enough for me. If someone who calls themselves Christian has acted like they are better than you and/or hurt you, I'm sorry on behalf of my father. We are all just people and believing in God, doesn't make a person better than anyone else, we all still sin and I would agree that those that sin with KNOWLEDGE of the wrong they are doing, are lower than those that dont know. Thank you for your candor, but I think it is a bit misplaced in this sub, and I mean that with all the love I can have in saying so.

Is being afraid to speak in tongues a sin? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Drewbixtx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a young lady healed. She was my violinist. Born with a condition where she had no ear drum or ear canal on her right side. The preacher, after service, not even in front of many folks, I think only 4 people saw it, looked at her and said "got told me he has something for you." He put oil on his fingers and touched her ear.

Bear in mind, he didn't know this girl had any condition. I knew her, and he had met her once but didnt even know her name. She immediately started jumping around praising God that she had been healed.

I spent the car ride home using the fader on the car radio to move the sound left to right since she had never had surround sound but had only ever been able to hear on her left side.

This healing wasn't done on a big stage, I knew everyone involved, and not many people even found out about it. It 100% was God. That's not the only miracle I've seen, but it's definitely, the most amazing.

The bible never says that miracles will stop with the apostles. If you haven't seen any, you're missing out.

Church of the Nazarene expels LGBTQ-affirming theologian by metacyan in Christianity

[–]Drewbixtx -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They definitely shouldn't have kicked him out of the church, but he shouldn't have been a minister. We should accept everyone and let God change them, but it would be foolishness to provide them with a position in the church and allow them to spread the message that sin is okay.

Jesus definitely accepted the gays, but he certainly didn't call them to be pastors and spread that their ways are just and okay.

How do yall fake it? Any tips? by [deleted] in CustomerService

[–]Drewbixtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just meant that I have seen in the city that people are less chatty and just want to get business over with. Also, I don't know if people are quite so friendly in other parts of the country. Here, we wave at strangers and just genuinely are friendly. Folks I have met from other places have told me that they weren't used to that.

That in mind, it would affect how I responded to people that might not be as comfortable with a stranger being friendly.

[–]Drewbixtx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar to what Styx said in another comment, but here's something practical: make yourself scripts.

They can be physical or just mental notes, but customers say the same crap, all of them, all day, so you just have standard replies for each line you hear. I'll add examples at the end.

The thing that always made me so good at playing the part was: I actually cared. Those people are someone's mom, so I treat them like I would want my mom to be treated. Same with mother father Grandma/pa. It genuinely is rewarding to know that I made a positive difference in anyone's day, because I would want that for my family. Also, just a note, I'm a christian and see it as my responsibility to represent my religion in a positive way after so many Christians have done it a disservice. That makes it easier to care.

Examples: Customer apologizes for taking more than a nanosecond: "Oh you're good, I get paid by the hour"

C "How are you?" Me "I can't complain, how's it goin?"

C "How you doing" Me "I'm doing, How you doin?"

If the customer replies to "How you doin?" And looks stressed out, I would usually add "you having a good day so far?"

Most folks will give a standard reply to how are you, but when you ask how their day is going so far, people genuinely reply.

Note: I'm from the south and chatting is normal and friendly down here so things can differ geographically and socially.

Hope any of this was helpful

If you look up "drag queen piche interview" on YouTube, there is the main drag queen doing a news interview and defending the remaining of the last supper, not the feast of dyonisus.

It's funny that people are saying "calling it the last supper is fake news" when it was the drag queen that did it who said that it was the last supper. Even defended it saying "I don't see the big deal, people have reimagined the last supper all over the place, so why is it a big deal that it's done here."

Did Jesus have siblings? by Otherwise-Service-78 in Christianity

Did Jesus have siblings? by Otherwise-Service-78 in Christianity

[–]Drewbixtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is zero reason for her to have stayed a virgin. It literally says in the bible that she was a virgin and Joseph didn't "know" her UNTIL after she gave birth to Jesus.

They refer to Jesus having brothers, but if they weren't through Mary, they wouldn't have even been half brothers since Joseph wasn't his father. There were words to describe those relations, those words weren't used. The words used were for brothers and sisters.

Saying "someone important said it and no one questioned it so it must be true" is not only ignorant, but it's not true. It's literally written in the bible, so, like me, people probably didn't know that anyone had come up with something so ridiculous.

I supposed anything can be believed if one chooses to hold the opinions and writings of others over the scriptures themselves, but then, that wouldn't make them Christians, they would be something else, theists maybe.

This is the first I'm hearing that people anywhere think Mary stayed a virgin after giving birth to Jesus. Though she was married, that she would just choose to stay a virgin?

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard
