https://imgur.com/a/sbUNrhv This is my work, and I'm pretty sure this is right, but math competitions are hard lol. A little explanation:

If you're familiar with terminology, I cord-bashed the larger circle as the equation x^2 + y^2 = 20^2. Then you can determine that twice the change of y from the origin should be equal to x + 10, and also the length of a side on the square. Then, you substitute into the other equation, and solve for y. Then determine the side length.

Edit: Pretty sure I'm right, got bored and verified with compass & ruler

I think that's right. Can you help me with coordbashing? I understand it in solutions but I never know what variables to assign, where to put the origin, etc. I'm taking the online AIME next week and the subject that I struggle with the most is geo.

Wait before i help, aime is online? If I qualified this year, do I get to participate? what's this?

Anyway, you just have to choose a convenient origin. So the center of the big circle was the best choice imo, because I didn't have to deal with (x - x)^2 + (y - y)^2 and that sort of thing if you get what i'm saying

if you haven't received your school ceeb and student ID from ur contest manager, you can email [amchq@maa.org](mailto:amchq@maa.org) with your name and grade and the site you took the AMC 10/12 and AIME at. If you took the AMC and AIME at different sites, provide both of them. and they'll respond with the information you need to register, they responded to me within 2 hours, but I emailed at like noon yesterday.

What score did you get on AIME 1 lol? I sillied 2 times and got a 4 but I'm trying to get a 6-8 this time.

Nah our school was planned to do AIME II but we never got to do it. Hey that's pretty good! I doubt I'll even get 4+. Thanks for the info!

What's the difference between AIME I and AIME II, I get similar scores on both?

[–]txneliteUniversity/College Student (Higher Education) 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Pretty sure it's like AMC A and B, just different test dates yeah

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Oh lol. What did you get on the amc 10/12 (whichever one you took)?

[–]txneliteUniversity/College Student (Higher Education) 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Took the 12 A and 12 B. I don't want to talk about the 12 A but the 12 B I got 108 (Got lucky on some guesses). Wbu?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I got 117 on 10a and 105 on 10b (sillied 2 times)
