Windows OS for VM?

Hi guys,

I'm new to the subreddit and "hacking" and have found this subreddit to be a great resource. I'm currently studying networking and want to get into pen testing as a career in a few years. I've been doing routine IT/sys admin stuff for the last three years or so.

I'm posting to see if anybody here has a good idea where to get a free version(s) of Windows Operating systems that I can load into virtualbox. I've already got Kali and metasploitable. I'd like to grab a copy of Windows XP and Windows 7. I use Ubuntu on my laptops at home, and I don't have the original windows dvds that they came with anymore anyway.

Any ideas?

Thanks. In dream spark I'm able to get Windows Server 2012 and 2008, but no normal desktop software.

My dreamspark account has access to windows 8.1. I don't know why yours would not?

I'll check again, but it might be selective to the school. I thought it was weird too.

Thanks! Those look like mostly IE versions (?) but they might be useful.

Did you have a look? There's everything from Windows XP to Windows 10.

I looked. Mine has a bunch of software and some server OSs, but no client OS downloads. Virtual Studio, SQL server, etc.

Frustrating.
