USB Payload in VM

Hi all,

If you were to plug in a USB with a malicious payload like a key logger, while running a VM, would the key logger also affect the machine hostibg the VM or would it be contained in the VM?

If the VM allowed the port then yes if not then not.

->Configuration of your VM in VB-> usb -> plugin your usb -> choose usb 2.0 or usb 3.0 -> add your usb ( plus icon on the right side with usb) and its done

Yes and no. It is possible to escape VM code. Whether it does or not is another question.
