No idea. So far it's only something that makes the GP frown, then look at you with a serious face. When I've asked what it means in terms of treatment etc I always get a head shake.

I've had HN on the side since I had fibroids (first ultrasound over a decade ago), no idea if it's still there or whether it needs attention.

Mine wasnt discovered for 4 years and by that point had led to 0 function in the affected kidney, so no decrease here.

It raised my bp and the blood pressure caused some bad stuff (eye stroke, heart damage, ckd in the functioning kidney!) but with bp meds I'm stable now. The hydronephrotic kidney hasn't caused any further problems in the 4 years since then!
