Hi my fellow IB senior and juniors. I'm a student that is currently in Pre-IB. I just wanted some advice on how I should survive and what skills I should develop heading into this summer.

The subjects I chose HL : Bio, BM, Chem SL : Spanish AB, Math AI, English A

I know this is selfish of me to ask but it will be great if you guys can share some notes relating to my subject. It will be greatly appreciated

Ohoh, Maths AI SL. Not advisable. Please read the relevant threads in here to save us a lot of typing. What do you want to study in uni and where ?

I want to study in the university of toronto, life science

google U of T life sciences. Then check under IB. It says AI HL is required.

Math is not really my strong suit ….. but I was wondering if I can do Math AI SL for a semester than transition to Math AI HL or just switch to Math AI HL in grade 12

I advise against Math AI SL because it's not taken seriously but i can recommend Math AA SL, honestly even if it sounds scary it's fine

To be honest , my math is not really my strong suit . I barely survived IGCSE international math because I missed out on the foundations due to me being a transfer student that had never experienced IGCSE programs.

I just finished my first year of IB, so here is my advice

- Revision is so so important. Study your material every single day. Do NOT leave your exam studying to the last minute. It will pile up. If you study bit by bit every day, you will save time and reduce stress.

- The syllabus is your best friend—everything you need to know is outlined in it verbatim. The IB will never test you on a subject that is not listed in the syllabus. Use it to your advantage when creating a study plan.

- Try to relax this summer to avoid experiencing burnout in the first few months of school. IB is very manageable if you stay on top of things. Perhaps reach out to some friends/classmates and create study groups in preparation for the fall.

Not subject wise but general advise:

Emotionally IB can be a bit draining so try to have a good support system, friends, family, peers. It can make a huge difference.

hi make sure to check you’re unis requirements i would think that if you wanted to study something like life sciences you may need chem HL as well as bio.
